Which camera should i get ?

  • i want a new camera that is under 500 and i saw this two so which one is better and why

  • Nikon is best known and has a wide variety of lenses available, including the VR lenses that have optical image stabilization built in. These lenses cost more but help in lower light or when using the telephoto systems.

    Sony has the image stabilization built into the body,so any new or old Sony or Minolta lens will have the advantage of optical image stabilization. You may, then, have less need for flash and get more natural-looking photos in indoor light, even with used and less-expensive lenses. The 18-70mm range is excellent. I had a 18-55mm lens and had to purchase a 17-70 for good general family photography. 55mm just wasn't long enough for some shots.

    Sony bought Minolta so you get the combination of a big consumer electronics firm with a veteran camera firm.

    Nikon's been in business for a long time and has a cult-like following. Given the nature of SOME of its cameras and lenses, the good reputation is very well deserved.

    I'd look for the better deal. Both will take fine photos if the photographer is doing his or her job.
