What place would be more painful to get tattooed?- the inner hip or the side of the lower back?

  • The inner thigh is a real beast of a place to get tattooed. Any fleshy part of the body that is exposed to everyday wear and tear isn't too bad, boney areas hurt a little more, but fleshy areas that don't get knocked about a lot are very sensitive, like the inner arm, inner thigh, back of the knee etc.

  • i have tattoos both places and really just depends on your pain tolerance. my back didn't hurt at all in some places, but in others it was agonizing. there is generally more body fat in the hip area so it doesn't hurt as bad, but mine is right on the tendons so that part hurt like a *****!!

Basically. Suck it up. Yah gotta earn your tattoos. If they didn't hurt then every lame would have one. Tattooed people are tough. =)

  • I found the back to be really painful--usually it hurts more wherever there is less flesh so either one is probably going to be painful plus it depends how tolerant you are to pain!

  • If you tat on to the inner hip you would be tating on the thigh? or the waist? If on the hip it would be on to bone and that hurts.

On the side of the lower back there are no bones, so less pain.

But it also depends on your tolerance to pain and how quickly you heal and deal with swelling and scabs.

  • I have the side of my low back done and it didn't hurt at all! I would think the hip would hurt more. Have fun! :)

  • definitely lower back the thinner the skin the more painful

  • Inner hip !!!

  • I'm thinking anywhere near the lower back but the experience will be painful no matter what? Good Luck!!
