When the TV cameras were allowed into the House of Commons in 1989 (i think!)
who was the first M.P. to speak ?Dear surreymann,
The first Member of Parliament who spoke in the presence of television
cameras in the House of Commons was Ian Gow (born 11 February 1937;
died 30 July 1990), Conservative MP for Eastbourne. The day was 21
November 1989, and Ian Gow spoke from 2:36 pm to 2:52 pm.
