COLUMBUS, Ohio -- "1957 -- Ohio's first pandemic flu patients were children. More American died from pandemic flu in the 20th century than all than died in world war one. It will happen again."
Ohio Health Department's Bret Atkins is in snyc with public health officials all over the country who are trying to let Americans know that a flu pandemic is inevitable. But it can be eased by preparation.
"I don't want to scare people but I do want people to make the preparations that they need to make in their own families and in their home, " Atkins tells NBC 4's Mike Jackson.
