  • I would like to find data on the literacy rate, life expectancy and birth mortality rate from 1900 to the present, by year for the US.

  • Dear Cls3277, Thank you for accepting my findings as the official answer to your question. I am reposting the information below for your convenience. Sincerely, Bobbie7 1900-1999 Table 12. Estimated life expectancy at birth in years, by race and sex: Death-registration States, 1900?28, and United States, 1929?99 http://www.lifeexpectancy.com/le_birth.pdf See page 6 for selected years Table 1. U.S. Life Expectancy at Birth, by Sex, in Selected Years (in years) http://www.ncseonline.org/nle/crsreports/05mar/RL32792.pdf Percent Illiterate in the Population by Race and Nativity: 1870 to 1969 http://www.arthurhu.com/index/literacy.htm Excel file http://levine.sscnet.ucla.edu/papers/_time_series.xls Percent Illiterate in the Population by Race and Nativity: 1870 to 1959 Page 2 http://www.census.gov/population/socdemo/education/p20-099/p20-99.pdf

  • Please help with my other questions outstanding!

  • I also found: Percent Illiterate in the Population by Race and Nativity: 1870 to 1969 http://www.arthurhu.com/index/literacy.htm Excel file http://levine.sscnet.ucla.edu/papers/_time_series.xls And here Percent Illiterate in the Population by Race and Nativity: 1870 to 1959 Page 2 http://www.census.gov/population/socdemo/education/p20-099/p20-99.pdf Is this satisfactory?

  • Cls3277, Please take a look at the following graphs. Infant mortality rate by year 1915-1995 http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm4838a2.htm#fig1 Lifespan and adult illiteracy rate http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/commandingheights/lo/countries/us/us_well.html Please let me know if this information would suit your purpose? Thank you, Bobbie7

  • This is good, as this is the data I want, but I need the data table supporting the chart. If you could find that data or recreate the data in Excel, and find the data through to 2000, I would be happy to kick in an extra $10.00 tip. Thanks

  • Hello again CLS3277, All I've found in table format is Life expectancy. 1900-1999 Table 12. Estimated life expectancy at birth in years, by race and sex: Death-registration States, 1900?28, and United States, 1929?99 http://www.lifeexpectancy.com/le_birth.pdf AND See page 6 for selected years Table 1. U.S. Life Expectancy at Birth, by Sex, in Selected Years (in years) http://www.ncseonline.org/nle/crsreports/05mar/RL32792.pdf If you are interested in the partial information that I was able to locate, you could lower the price of your question accordingly. (You can change the price by going to "My Account," selecting "My Unanswered Questions", clicking on the question, and then clicking on "Change Question Parameters" to modify the pricing.) Afterwards, you can post another question, if you wish, to see whether someone can find the remaining data in table form. Sincerely, Bobbie7

  • cls3277, I'll see what I can find and will get back to you as soon as posible. Thanks, Bobbie7

  • Please post as an answer and I will give you credit. Not quite perfect, but I can definitely use some of the charts. Thanks
