Theyre always more painful in a bony place where there's less flesh. I had one done on the back of my neck a few years ago, it was the single most painful experience of my life. But then, I'm a wuss.um.. i know that when you get a tattoo it bleeds, and if you dont like blood dont get one. but still. i dont think it hurts as much as other placesi have tattoos on my arms and one on my chest and to be honest they were all the same pain,, i think it depends on your state of mind when you have it done..
it is not a nice pain but bearable..

But it cant be that bad as millions of people have them (including me!!! 3 and counting)What is painful to you might not be painful to me.. Its a matter of your pain tolerance and what kind of "pain" you percieve a tattoo or piercing as.. I have 8 piercings and some in my genitals, never hurt me one bit.. now a needle at the doctors office makes me quiver.. so whats the difference? its just how we percieve things based on our life's experiences..mine is on my shoulder blade and it hurts like a *****

It's all about where the nerve endings are and what part of your body is more sensitive. I have a chest piece and the worst part for me was at the edge of my chest, approaching my arm pit. In general, chest tattoos are pretty painful and the fact that you can see the artist working doesn't help either.Thats a fairly painful spot yes,You don't have a shoulder blade on the front of your chest. There more muscle and fat the less painful the tattoo will be.NoTattoos are painful everywhere. but it may be because its right by your shoulder blade, and when they get close to a bone it hurts alot...
