We run a business that works from 5pm to 8pm in the evenings. We keep snacks around for the employees (cokes, bottle water, snacks). Is this deductable. The business is a sole prop and is run out of my home with 5-7 people. Any idea where we put this expense on the tax forms?Tax rules list this under fringe benefits. Take a look at this publication, page 7, "Meals and Lodging". http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p535.pdf See also, "De Minimus Benefits" in this publication on page 6. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p15b.pdf http://www.thetntsite.com/Thanks. Using windows movie maker -- you have to save it into the proper file format, that is "wmv" file (use the "save movie file" on the menu at the top left) before upload.. » Which camera should i get ?

i want a new camera that is under 500 and i saw this two so which one is better and why javascript:gsItemClick(0,1,'7'); javascript:gsItemClick(1,2,'7'); Nikon is best known and has a wide variety of lenses available, including the VR lenses that have optical image stabilization built in. These lenses cost more but help in lower light or when using the telephoto systems. Sony has the image stabilization built into the body,so any new or old Sony or Minolta lens will have the advantage of optical image stabilization. You may, then, have less need for flash and get more natural-looking photos in indoor light, even with used and less-expensive lenses. The 18-70mm range is excellent. I had a 18-55mm len...... - 2009-07-04

» In Africa, why didn't agriculture spread south from Egypt?

The Plants grown in the Med. area do not grown near the equator. They need a period of cold or a change in light levels, etc. S. Africa had to wait for Europeans to bring crops past the equator by ship.the Sahara desert, you are not walking across that. There was some agriculture in various parts of Africa. The Sahara is not fertile. Much of Africa has two seasons: rainy and dry. If you've seen the Lion King, you know that this means that the herds run around the grasslands. Africa is a continent of grasslands, desert, and jungle. Not all tribes were hunter-gatherers. Egyptian agriculture works fine in the Nile crescent and along the banks. If you've ever seen a bird's-eye-view photograph of the Nile River, you can see that...... - 2009-07-04

» [Release v2] Bump without Post (Any Authorized User Version)

LAST UPDATED 3.31.01 12:45 AM Eastern Updated to version 0.0.2 New features in 0.0.2: Floodcheck. You can set it so that your users cannot bump any particular thread more than once every X hours. It records the time it was last bumped in a new field in the Thread table. This hack allows your users to bump a thread without posting in it. This is different from making a thread sticky in two ways: First, this will not append the thread title with "Sticky", and second, the thread will only be at the top of the thread list until another post is made, at which point it becomes second, so this is somewhat temporary (moreso on larger boards;)). This version will allow any authorized user to bump a thread. You can authorize in four differe...... - 2009-07-04

» HD Displays improved... well, sorta, I guess... well, maybe not.

I know there's been some discussion here about the poor quality Ridgid machinery displays at some HD stores. In fact, it was mention of that discussion on another woodworking board that made me aware that this one even existed. I, too had noticed the poor Ridgid displays at my local HD (Little Rock, AR, Markham at Chenal store). For the longest time, there wasn't a TS2424 on display at all, nor was the jointer out on display. The machines that were out were dirty and not always complete... the same story that I've heard from others. Within the last few weeks, I started noticing changes, and figured that all those complaints had been heard and Ridgid had slapped HD's hand and demanded better displays. One day, there was a TS-2424 on the flo...... - 2009-07-04

» canon 20 2.8 lens question...

So i dropped my 24 2.8 lens (canon) on the cement; needless to say, yeah, it's broke (not the glass, but the electronic part of it). It does not look broke until you attach it to the camera (error error error!!!) anyhow, i'm looking for a new one today and came across the 20 2.8 canon.... just wondering if anyone owns this lens and your thoughts on it. Thank you!I had this lens for a short time. I liked the field of view as it was very wide on my 20d. But it was very soft wide open. Pretty much unusable wide open and didn't really get any kind of sharpness unless I stopped it down to about f/5.6. The wide angle is very attractive, but for me it just wasn't worth it. I instead went with the 28mm 1.8. Still decently wide and pretty...... - 2009-07-04

» What I would like to see on your site?

If by site, you mean the entire Ridgid website, I'd like to see the TS-3650 recognized as a member of the Ridgid tool family and the proper information placed on the site in the appropriate places to support it. The manual or parts list is still not listed with the other table saws. It receives less respect than it should it seems from everyone there. Since the saws been out for going on 3 YEARS now, its about time that the website caught up with reality. Not on the website, but I'd like to see better availability of accessories for the TS-3650 and other tools in your only distributor's stores. Why would your reps not be pushing HD to carry at least a couple Table Saw ZCIs and other such accessories, these are the items that will se...... - 2009-07-04

The song is called "Buttons" by Sia (some of you may know her song "Breathe Me"). Anyway, what do you think of the video? It makes no sense, is pointless, and doesn't relate to the song at all IMO, but it's nice to see a female pop singer who isn't afraid to look unattractive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvd814WG2... Other favorite from her include "Sunday", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Little Black Sandals", and "The Girl You Lost To Cocaine". I have been depressed for almost a year and I have been persistently sad daily since the event happened 9 months ago. I have been dealing with so much on the inside, to a breaking point. Im mad at a friend for taking advantage of me and my kindness and screwing me over in the long run. I felt like one friend who I considered a brother and he turned on me so quick for something that was so stupid, He took claim to our friends which was his friends before they were mine really and they showed it. This link will give more info (so I do not have to retype) on this http://www.planetisaac.com/teach/2008/12...It depends on the state. In Wisconsin and most states a political science major cannot teach high school unless they get a teaching certificate. I'm attempting to make a webpage I had to make for a university project display correctly cross browser, and validate properly, however I have run into a strange problem. The code I have shows fine in Mozilla, and in Opera, but in IE the top bullet point has a strange inexplicable indent. The test page I set up is here http://www.april-showers.com/ensui/ajt/test.html I'm basically at a loss as to why it does this, so I thought I may as well see if any of you could figure why.IE and NN use different methods for lists. I'm looking for a real general description (i.e. date, location, names) about a shootout between two friends who were security guards or possibly cops. I believe the event took place sometime during the first six months of 1997. I'm thinking that they were security guards at a college or university. The shootout ended in their deaths and I think took place over the hood of their car. Their families had no idea why it happened. I first read about it in the Rockford Register-Star (as in Rockford,IL). It wasn't local news but it could have been state news.Hi bpryanmb79, I found an article dating from 1995 from Illinois about two police officers who killed each other. The cause is still unknown. Is this normal when taking this?LOL,, I'm not sure about the other answsers,, maybe it's easy to see why I say don't depend on guesses ,, especially by strangers,,, what kind of backpack to use or what color to wear are good questions here but not about narcotics,,, you just got two completely wrong answsers,,, You can break it in half,,, vicodin is NOT a time released drug The tylenol is in the pill so it's going to be a little hard getting it out without the narcotic so that idea w...... - 2009-07-04

» Olympus e-420 with Sigma EF-500 flash

Hi guys, sorry about the topic being a bit non-descript, however I like making it easier for others to search/find in google should they have a similar question. Basically, I have an Olympus E-420 and an old Sigma EF-500 (with pentax compatitble hotshoe mount, as I also have a Pentax *ist D). I'm thinking of hooking up the EF-500 to the olympus. Now, i'm not so worried about voltages anymore (I've asked that previously, my olympus likes a voltage of 3 - 6v and the flash is 5.9v and has been slated as compatible. What I would like to know is, with the pentax hotshoe mount on the Ef-500, will it sync up with my olympus? I understand I won't have TTL metering and such, that essentially my camera will be on manual and my flash on manua...... - 2009-07-04

» A couple more photos - Comments please

Here are a couple of shots I took recently. Any thoughts? http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f103/sstasiak/trains.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f103/sstasiak/oldhoop.jpgThe first was taken through glass? That might account for the lack in sharpness here. For a subject like that would need to be tack sharp, in my opinion. Your point of view definitely helped you create an interesting photo here! Where is that station? The second is definitely not quite so interesting. I think you should have played more with the element "shadows" than you did. I'm only guessing, of course, but I think there were some cool shadows there. That black top left corner bugs me, too... in composing, that should have been left out.im to new to critique...... - 2009-07-04

» How would you call someone who never answered your questions directly? A "Question Diverter"?

I am thinking to present a funny award to a friend of mine who never answered questions directly. For instance, when I asked him what grade he got on a test, the first thing he said would be, "What did you get?" And after I told him my grade and asked for his grade again, he would reply, "Pretty good." - Never get to the point!!! How would you call this kind of person? A "Question Diverter?"Detail dodger?A practitioner of answer avoidance.A Question Dodger.Politician or Political Candidate or Pinball Wizard or PingPong (Champ) or Tennis Champion...... - 2009-07-04

» At which week in your pregnancy do you have your 1st Ultrasound?

I'm 7 weeks pregnant (just going into the 8th week). At how many weeks do you have your first ultrasound scan? Thanks in advance. When you have your first NHS scan in the UK depends on the area you live in. Some NHS Trusts do a nuchal scan at around 12 weeks. But most Trusts do a dating scan at 14-15 weeks which accompanies the blood tests you have at 16 weeks. In my area, which set of tests you get depends on which hospital you chose to give birth in! Lots of people pay to have a private nuchal scan at 12 weeks because they want to check that everything is fine at the 12 week mark so they can start announcing their pregnancy. A scan like this usually costs about £100 and lots of private hospitals do them. I had one with my ...... - 2009-07-04

We know he didn't go to spain for the rest of the squad so it was assumed he wouldn't be signing. http://www.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,44-1106267,00.htmlNo to Vargas. http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Story_Page/0,7760,695256,00.htmlRumour that Filepescu (Real Betis) is on trial as well - any thoughts as to how Sam is thinking a...... - 2009-07-04

» 40th Anniversary of the Topeka Tornado

Today is the 40th anniversary of the Topeka, Kansas, F-5 tornado. It killed 22. At the time, it was the costliest tornado in world history. The NWS path map is available at: crh.noaa.gov/Image/top/events/toptor/path.jpg Their 00Z surface chart is accompanies this post. At 18Z, the surface low was near P28. It moved northeast during the day. [attachmentid=367]Both the Topeka tornado (which was in the SW part of the city at 00Z) and the Manhattan, KS F-3 which occurred at 2245Z, were "warm front" storms. » Checkboxes, asp

Hello, Can anyone point me in the right direction about how to put some Checkboxes on my webpage? I just need to know where to get started with the .asp code, as i haven't a clue and can't find info anywhere. Heres the thing: I have a page with a form on it. the user types in details, clicks submit, and then the form info is emailed to the relevant receiver. I need to put 3 checkboxes on it (called Driver's Needed) so the user can select between 0 and 3 of the drivers, and this will be sent along with the rest of the forms details (all textboxes) when the user clicks submit. Thanks! You didn't mention whether you are using the FrontPage wizards or not so I will assume not for now and we can go in another direction if you are. ...... - 2009-07-04

More American died from pandemic flu in the 20th century than all than died in world war one. It will happen again." Ohio Health Department's Bret Atkins is in snyc with public health officials all over the country who are trying to let Americans know that a flu pandemic is inevitable.
